Welcome to the Bartlett High School Band Program. The BHS Band has been a fixture of the Bartlett Community since at least 1934 and is one of the most exciting, challenging, and fun experiences anyone could have at Bartlett High School.  Our band curriculum is diverse and offers many opportunities for students to learn to play a musical instrument and learn to read music through performance. The BHS band curriculum is performance based, meaning that all teaching and learning is directed toward public performances of the student’s skills.

Our Values

The Municipality of Bartlett and Bartlett City Schools shapes who we are and in return, we shape it.  We will strive to meet the wants and needs of our students and stakeholders, and advocate for the band within the community.

Employ a positive work ethic on our steady march toward excellence.  Create excellent, well rounded musicians who perform at the highest level in concert, jazz, chamber, and marching ensembles.  It is our hope that all students transfer this work ethic from activities in the band program to all facets of life.

Create a fun and rigorous environment that challenges students and promotes personal growth.

Be good stewards of our facilities, equipment, and resources, both personal and financial.

Philosophy/Mission Statement

Students perform at the highest level when they become process oriented instead of product oriented.  Every student is a valuable asset to the program with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs and contributions.  A variety of ensembles, rehearsal environments, and performances combine to create success oriented people and to encourage and nurture the specialized desires of these students.  Students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the values and goals of the band program.
